Is NISBRE 2024 going to have a virtual component?

NISBRE 2024 will be held in-person at the Washington Hilton in Washington DC and will not include hybrid (virtual) events or activities. The NISBRE conference website and some communications will be managed by vFairs. As part of the poster session, presenters may have the option to upload their poster slide to the NISBRE website to increase viewership and assist with networking after the conference event.

How much are the registration fees to attend?

What is included in the registration fee?

Registration includes the following food and meals during the conference:

  • Light appetizers during the welcome reception on Sunday evening
  • Breakfast and lunch on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday

How do I pay my registration fee?

The registration form will take you to the PayPal payment gateway system of National Association of IDeA Principal Investigators (NAIPI). Users can pay the registration fee using a Debit/Credit Card or PayPal account. 

NAIPI is the non-profit organization handling the registrations and FnB for NISBRE2024.

What is the cancellation policy?

Cancellations for NISBRE 2024 will not be accepted. Substitutions may be issued for an unexpected family or medical emergency. Substitution requests must be submitted in writing no later than June 07, 2024 by emailing nisbre2024@getvfairs.io. Please include “NISBRE Registration Substitution Request” in the subject line.

How and when do I submit a scientific abstract or a core poster presentation abstract?

  • Abstract submission for Oral Presentations (Short Research Presentations & Flash-Talks) are due March 22, 2024.
  • Abstact submission for Poster Presentations are due April 05, 2024.

How can I be considered for a travel award?

All abstract submissions from participating undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and junior investigators will automatically be considered for a travel award. Travel awardees will be notified by early June if they have received an award. Learn more about all of the NISBRE 2024 awards on the NISBRE Awards page.

Will there be presentation awards during the conference?

All scientific presentations and core posters submitted by undergraduate students, graduate students, postdoctoral researchers, and junior faculty will be considered for awards during the conference. NISBRE will provide awards for best oral presentations, flash talks, and poster presentations. It is anticipated that at least 15 presenters will be selected for awards. How can I nominate an investigator for an award?

This year’s NISBRE will include four distinct awards for outstanding faculty across the IDeA programs. Awards will be given in the following categories: (1) COBRE Rising Star Award, (2) INBRE Outstanding Mentorship and Teaching Award, (3) CTR Excellence in Service and Mentoring Award, and (4) Entrepreneur Award. What are the registration fees for sponsors?

Registration fees vary by sponsorship tier. Please refer to our Sponsors page for more information about sponsorship levels for the NISBRE 2024.

How can I learn about or post job opportunities?

Can I get an invoice to pay for a group of multiple registrations at once?

We are unable to offer group registrations for NISBRE2024. Each attendee will need to complete registration individually and pay for that individual registration using a Debit/Credit Card or PayPal account.

Is meeting registration open to researchers not affiliated with a currently funded IDeA program?

Anyone can register for and attend NISBRE2024.

Are there special hotel rates for the conference and is a conference code needed for hotel booking?

There are special rates for NISBRE2024. Information on hotel rates and how to book your hotel reservation is available on the Accommodations tab.

Will NISBRE2024 be arranging tours or other sightseeing events?

NISBRE will not be arranging tours or sightseeing events. Please see our Resources page for more information regarding things to do in Washington DC. We encourage you to explore DC on your own while at the conference event.

Can IDeA grants pay for registration and attendance?

We encourage you to reach out to your institutional accounting contacts, including your IDeA Program Director, for more information on potential financial assistance in attending this conference.

Are there childcare services at the Washington Hilton?
